We're locally owned and operated, proud MPAQ members, and the same team behind the jobs on the Bongaree home page. Below is how our licences work, how a visit runs and what paperwork follows.

Plumber, Drainer and Gasfitter Licences Explained

Queensland runs two licence layers: a worker holds an occupational licence for the trade skills, and the business behind the job carries a contractor licence. The QBCC grants both.

The occupational licence shows the holder can do the work to standard. The contractor licence shows the business has the depth and training to run jobs properly and stand behind them.

Each trade then sits on its own licence:

  1. Plumber's licence

Covers the fixtures and pipework side, short of the jobs that carry a separate endorsement.

  2. Drainer's licence

Covers drainage below ground level, again apart from separately endorsed work.

  3. Gas work

A licensed gasfitter alone may install, remove, alter, repair, service, test or certify a gas system and its connections, and you can see that licence before gas work starts.

Regulated plumbing and drainage work splits into permit work, notifiable work and minor work, and all three require a licensed plumber or drainer.

What You Can Expect When We Visit

  1. 1

    You Describe the Fault

Ring (07) 3523 7121 or send a message about the trouble, and we ask what we need to know before heading out.

  2. 2

    We Diagnose on Site

Salt-air wear on a mixer near the Bongaree Post Office or a unit refit out by the shops: every booking gets traced to its source before tools come out.

  3. 3

    You Approve the Quote

You get a fixed quote before any work starts, with flat-rate pricing and no hidden fees, and nothing happens until you approve the figure.

  4. 4

    We Test and Hand Over

Testing comes next, then the paperwork passes across, and payment waits until the job's finished: card or EFTPOS on site, or Fix now, pay later.

Paperwork and Inspections After a Job

Two regulators share the checking: the QBCC licenses the trade and registers notifiable jobs, while the City of Moreton Bay issues permits and sends inspectors. Here's what reaches you:

  1. Form 4

Notifiable jobs go on this form, and the copy belongs to you or whoever engaged us once the work wraps. The QBCC will send one if yours goes missing.

  2. Gas compliance certificate

A new gas installation or alteration ends with your certificate straight away, and the network operator's copy goes out within five days.

  3. Council inspection

You can ask for a council check of notifiable work whenever it suits, and an inspector may visit, if the occupier agrees, within a year of our notice reaching the QBCC.

You can verify us yourself: a QBCC register search shows licence status, and an address search shows whether a Form 4 was lodged for your place.

Where We Work Around Bongaree

The run covers this town and its neighbours: Woorim on the surf side, Sandstone Point where the bridge meets the mainland, and Bellara alongside.

Woorim and Sandstone Point have pages of their own: Plumber in Woorim and Plumber in Sandstone Point. Every address we attend, Bellara included, is on the suburbs we cover list, and the booking page takes messages around the clock.

Questions Our Customers Ask

Call (07) 3523 7121

Does plumbing work come with a warranty?

Yes, it does. Every Bongaree job carries a lifetime labour warranty on the workmanship, and the Fix-It-or-It's-Free guarantee (T&Cs apply) steps in if a fix fails to hold.

Who inspects plumbing work in my home?

Council and the QBCC between them. The City of Moreton Bay issues permits and sends inspectors, and you can ask for a check of notifiable work whenever it suits. The QBCC's job is licensing and the register. Unitywater looks after the street mains and sewer, while every pipe on your side of the meter belongs to you.

What paperwork do I get after plumbing work?

Two documents, depending on the job. A Form 4 copy lands with you after notifiable work, and a gas compliance certificate follows any gas job on a new installation or an alteration, with the network operator notified inside five days.

Do you take on units and rentals, or only houses?

Yes, we do. Houses, townhouses, units and rentals all get booked with us. Who signs off differs: a rental goes through the owner or property manager, and a unit can bring body corporate rules into shared services.
